2.Daily Average Water Consumption in Household

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Waterworks Bureau (TMWB) in FY 2001, the water consumption for household in Japan was 206 litters in FY 1981, but it was increased up to 245 litters in FY 2002 (Fig.2). The sector usages of water in household by the TMWB at FY 1999, it was 26 per cent for bath, 24 per cent for toilet, 22 per cent for kitchen, 20 per cent for laundry and 8 per cent for washing face and others (Fig.3).
